Although there isn't an advertising sponsorship contract at the end of playing TEST MATCH; it is a popular fast paced sport for artists of Central Victoria at the home ground of Allan's Walk Artist Run Space.
People who are silly enough to start a career as a contemporary artist in regional Victoria have a long distance to cover and this requires a great deal of motivation and sheer guts to get the momentum and spin to generate art activity and attract an audience and peer network.
Peer artists for artists starting out, or artists trying out something new, are often far and few between innings, yet are essential to establishing a sound career that can grow on a productive base over the passing of years.
TEST MATCH coached carefully by Allan's Walk artistic directorate will provide four regional artists seven days, a fee, publicity and accommodation support to bring their networks closer and create a practical space to play within.
The aim of TEST MATCH is to provide opportunity for Central Victorian artists to “test out” or “play out” ideas/skills/techniques/new ideas with peer artistic networks outside of Central Victoria.
